Adult Cottontail Gets a Second Chance at Life

This is an Eastern Cottontail that was hit by a car and had a bad wound on his rear leg. With our veterinary and rehabilitative assistance, he not only survived but regained full use of the leg. He was released in August near the area where he was found. The interns at the center nick-named him “the boxer bunny” because he was not having interactions with humans willingly. He would strike out at us to keep us at bay. We were all glad to get him home again. Aurora, Wildlife Intern
